Mercedes-Benz G-Class Celebrates 35 Years

October 14th, 2014 by

It’s not just any old Tuesday over here at Mercedes-Benz of Union. It’s the birthday of our legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the 35th to be exact.

The first G-Class debuted in 1979, and if we lined the ’79 model up with today’s, you would see only subtle differences. This is because when Mercedes-Benz puts a car on the road, they put out “The best or nothing.”

Having endured the toughest terrain on six continents, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class reaches a heightened level of refinement in its 35th year. A 382 horsepower G 550 V8 engine powers the G-Class with 391 lb.-ft. of torque.

The G-Class provides a sixth sense to the cautious driver with systems like the DISTRONIC PLUS® cruise control which uses radar to adapt the G-Class’s speed to the surrounding traffic flow.

These are just a few highlights that make the Mercedes-Benz G-Class so special in its 35th year. Visit our West Union dealership today and test drive the new model along with any new Mercedes-Benz model in our Mercedes-Benz Showroom.
